Event entertainment trend: Pinball machines

Event entertainment trend: Pinball machines

Pinball machines are popping up all over.  Is this a trend or something old becoming cool again?  We decided to investigate mostly because our company has a couple big pinball fans in our midst and we hope that it’s both a trend and becoming cool again. We talked to Luiza Flodr of Video Amusement, which [...]

Another B2B Behind Us!

Thanks to everyone who came out for our annual B2B photo station! I took this shot of a group of revelers who had no problem posing with a friendly old man. He was really cool and I think the photo perfectly depicts the attitude shared by all participants who – for at least one day [...]

Orange at Work

We’ve been trying to capture more shots of each other at work, especially doing stuff like photo stations, since clients are often curious about the setup. I love how the first image conveys Orangey fun vibes and shows how you can use an on-location site as a backdrop. Myleen and I kept running into each [...]

Happy Birthday Kevin!

Covering our Governator’s own bodybuilding event

Covering our Governator's own bodybuilding event

Some of you may know that I shoot a lot of physique photography and in particular bodybuilding and fitness shows.  One of the biggest competitions every year is the Arnold Classic which is held in Columbus, OH.  I’ve been covering this for over ten years and it seems to grow every year.  One of the [...]

Stephen Sprouse Collection Launch at Louis Vuitton

We hoarded hundreds and hundreds of precious Polaroid 600 film to shoot the launch party at Louis Vuitton Tuesday. The collection features Stephen Sprouse’s iconic type all over the LV goods in splashy neon. Punk Couture! Sprouse was a pioneering pop artist and pal of Andy Warhol who passed in 2004. So the Polaroids were [...]

Andi & Jeff

Bill Nye @ Chabot’s 125th

We’ve been incredibly busy so we apologize for the delay in updating our blog. Anyhow, this past weekend one of the many shoots we had was for the Chabot Space and Science Center which was having their 125th Anniversary Gala.  There were many luminaries there (no pun intended) including Bill Nye the science guy who [...]

Post Labor Day notes…

Orange Photography + Mosio’s Birthday Party

It’s official, we turned seven years old! The awesome folks at Mosio, who just had their first anniversary, celebrated with us. So we got a lil snap happy with over a thousand photos from the evening, but how else would a photography studio commemorate such a year? [autoviewer=12,600,400]

Flickr and image distribution

Flickr and image distribution

I’m sure many of you all in the photographic industry (as well as you general Flickr users) have heard about the various news about Flickr in the last couple months.  One I thought that we should note is that it is wise not to upload your high res files to Flickr because of some of [...]

The ladies still love Ponch!

The PCBC 2008 Conference is in full swing now over at Moscone North and South and has some big hitters in town giving presentations such as Carly Fiornia, Malcolm Gladwell and Tom Peters. Of course the biggest draw might have been Ponch aka Erik Estrada!  I was a long time C.H.I.P.s fan growing up so [...]

Family Days at SF MOMA

The SF MOMA hosts some really great Family Programs. You can bring the kids for free and check out educational activities hosted in the Koret Center as well as performances around the museum. These are always a joy to shoot (I get paid to stalk the lil munchkins!). Find out more about upcoming programs here.

Black and White Ball 2008

Perhaps a couple of weeks ago you passed by the Civic Center and noticed it gloriously lit up in blue? The occasion was the SF Symphony’s annual Black and White Ball, which Orange was on hand to shoot. The party was impressive. Above was captured by one of our team, Nikki Richter.

Happy Birthday Gene
