Juicy bits from the Orange Photography team: tips, behind the scenes, photoshoots, reviews
…but it’s our job to make it look delightful! This was particularly the case at a recent shoot (our third) we did for American Crown catalog. The Alameda beach is located right on the edge of the San Francisco bay; with it’s sweeping views of San Francisco and the Bay Bridge it offers an ideal location for a photo shoot. However, unfortunately for photographers and models, it is also one of the most windy locations on the Bay.
According to the kite surfers who were flocking to the waves during the shoot, we happened to be there on one of the most epically windy days ever to be had on the beach. While they were having fun in their wetsuits, the American Crown models spent the day shivering, covered in goosebumps, and smiling through chattering teeth while modeling board shorts, tank tops, tees, and flip flops. Our crew shared jackets with the models between shots and according to lead photographer Andria Lo, “the very last shots on the beach felt like a little sandstorm, blowing everywhere and hitting our eyes and faces.”
In the end, the pictures turned out wonderfully. When you see a picture that inspires you to cruise to a beach and soak up the sun – rather than toss on a parka – we’ve done our job.
