Help MDA raise funds for Muscular Dystrophy research

Last night we were happy to donate our services as part of our Social Photography program to the MDA of San Francisco.  MDA has a camp that the kids go to that’s something they look forward to each year, and the research into Muscular Dystrophy has been an ongoing battle.  To help keep this research going, and to help the kids affected by MD, it’s important for those who are able, to continue to support the MDA in whatever way they can.  For us it was donating our time and a silent auction piece, but you can help too.  Find out more on their website: http://www.mda.org

Freaky bodies of bodybuilding and fitness

freaky bodies dejected bodybuilder

Now that Arnold Schwarzenegger is done with his responsibilities as Governor of California, he had more time to spend at the sporting event that bears his name – the Arnold Sports Festival – which includes the Arnold Classic, among many, many other competitions.  The event is actually larger than the Olympics, even, and seems to keep growing.  Typically I’m hired to shoot the women but the lead image I just had to take when I saw the dejected bodybuilder sitting on the floor.

The Special Event 2011 wrap-up and learnings

So last week was The Special Event in Phoenix, AZ and I was honored to be a speaker at the conference.  The best thing about going to these is that you get to meet new folks, learn and network.  This year’s The Special Event was my first one to attend and it was definitely worth the trip!
Some of the general themes that I came away with was the importance of social media and using it the right way, and hearing about many different trends and ideas for businesses in general.  As usual there were very specific sessions for caterers, designers etc, but I mostly attended more general topics.  Here’s a few more shots from the week as well as a few comments… […]
