Amy Arbus at Orange Photography for Fotovision
Renown portrait photographer Amy Arbus was in our studio over the weekend conducting 'Portraits Without Walls', a Fotovision.org 2-day workshop. The course was designed to encourage students to photograph people in an entirely new way; to develop a sense of movement and urgency in their photographs. On Sunday, the students photographed the Cherry Blossom Festival Grand Parade at Civic Center and then discussed their experience. Towards the end of the workshop, students were able to get feedback from Amy while having her review their portfolios. We're looking forward to hosting another workshop for Fotovision again soon!

Mitsubishi features Orange Photography (on-site printing and green screen)
We've been using Mitsubishi printers ever since we started doing some on-site printing at events and we've always been pleased with the results. Their printers are well built and really stand up to constant use. Since we've also spoken at numerous seminars and conferences, we got to talking with them directly and they've decided to feature Orange Photography. We're honored to be on their website and continue to use their products. Many photographers have asked us about what we use and primarily now we use the CP-9500 and CP-9550DW Digital Color Photo Printers. They are dye sublimation and the print quality is superb as well as how quickly they print.

Mayor Newsom's inauguration

We were hired by the mayor's swearing in committee to cover Mayor Newsom's 2nd inauguration. Even though there were a bunch of press photographers at the event, i was fortunate to get special access to the mayor. I haven't photograph many politicians but Gavin is definitely one of the most charismatic that i have observed.

Fotovision: Reinventing Travel and Stock Photography for a Brave New World

We're happy to once again be hosting Fotovision for their next workshop entitled: Reinventing Travel and Stock Photography for a Brave New World.
Here's a quick synopsis of the program: "Fotovision has an upcoming workshop on Nov 11th with Bob Holmes: Reinventing Travel and Stock Photography for a Brave New World and we now have a space for that workshop at Orange Photography. I think this will be a great workshop for new and seasoned photographers alike. The focus is really on finding a way to respond to the dynamic changes in the market and we all could use some pointers in that department."

ORANGE PHOTOGRAPHY LAUNCHES SOFTWARE PLATFORM TO SUPPORT THE NEW PROFESSIONAL NETWORK
ORANGE PHOTOGRAPHY LAUNCHES SOFTWARE PLATFORM TO SUPPORT THE NEW PROFESSIONAL NETWORK
SAN FRANCISCO - July 11th, 2005 - Orange Photography, the premiere full service photography agency in the Greater Bay Area, today launched a web-based software platform designed to service professional photographers in their newly formed professional network. The Orange Exposure Professional Network represents the culmination of Orange Photography’s vision and commitment to excellence as the company poises to expand beyond their regional dominance.
"The launch of our Professional Network and the supporting software platform builds on our momentum as the leading full service photography agency poised to expand into other metropolitan markets," said Jack Huynh, CEO of Orange Photography. "Our experience servicing a wide range of clients, from Fortune 500 companies to creative agencies to retail consumers has given us considerable insight in developing our software platform to fit the needs of other professional photographers working in many different disciplines. Our goal with the platform is to go beyond the limited vision of other online services catering to professional photographers as simply an ‘internet’ storefront or a Costco style lab. Ultimately, the software platform combined with our Professional Network will allow us to service many of our global corporate clients throughout key markets that demand our level of quality."
Although, the software platform is only in a beta launch phase, the list of features designed for professional use is still impressive. Rich with features for any event/wedding/portrait photographer, the platform’s strength lies in the branding integration with the photographer’s own brand as well as peer-to-peer driven content that is relevant to the market segments that the Professional Network serves. The product is slated for a full launch in the last quarter of 2005 as the company refines the product and builds it professional network out in major metropolitan areas of the United States.

ORANGE PHOTOGRAPHY SELECTED AS A FINALIST FOR THE WEBBY BUSINESS AWARDS
SAN FRANCISCO - October 25, 2003 - Orange Photography has been selected as a finalist for the Integration of Online/Offline Experience category in the 1st Annual Webby Business Awards. The Webby Business Awards honor companies that excel at using the web as a mature tool to achieve critical business goals. The awards are produced by The Academy, which also presents the annual Webby Awards, now in their eighth year. The Academy launched the Webby Business Awards last fall as a separate awards program aimed at recognizing the best business practices online.
"Our nomination in the Integration of Online & Offline experience category is apropos as it fundamentally reflects exactly where we want to be as a brand." states Jack Huynh, CEO of Orange Photography. "Since day one, we have been vigilant in presenting the highest level of brand experience to our clients and customers at every interaction point. We're excited that the Webby Awards recognize the significance of our effort despite the small size of our organization. Simply being recognized in a field of Goliaths in this particular category is a rewarding achievement."
"The genius behind Orange Photography is the catalytic energy of a small but focused group of individuals seeking to cultivate a vision built on art, commerce, and character," comments Ryan Hicks, Orange Photography's Creative Director. "The challenge to integrate these concepts is a ongoing process but our effort is beginning to reach fruition. We appreciate the recognition at this juncture by The Webby Awards but there is still much ahead for us."

ORANGE PHOTOGRAPHY ANNOUNCES 'SOCIAL PHOTOGRAPHY' PROGRAM BENEFITTING SAN FRANCISCO NON-PROFITS
The Pioneer in Digital Event and Wedding Photography Reaches out to Aid Non-Profit, Charitable, and Community Organizations
SAN FRANCISCO - March 18, 2003 - Orange Photography is proud to present a program that reflects the company's values as well as the power of photography. The 'Social Photography' program is an opportunity for Orange Photography to give back to the community by offering creative talent to organizations that rarely have photography within their budget.
Once a month, a qualifying charitable/non-profit organization will be chosen to donate both services and revenues from the sale of reprints on the www.orangeexpsure.com website. From documenting social conditions to fundraisers, Orange Photography has the talent and resources to bring photography to every level of social strata. We believe the power of photography and compassion can enrich the lives of people in our community. Accordingly, we hope to cultivate opportunities so that we can put our beliefs into action.
"As individuals with a strong sense of community and compassion, we decided to integrate those beliefs into our organization in order to plant the appropriate seeds of growth," stated Jack Huynh, CEO of Orange Photography. "All too often we postpone our philanthropic efforts until we've make it in the business world but I feel it is important to introduce the Social Photography program at the formative stages of our organization. As we grow, these values will provide a meaningful context for growth as well as keep the organization connected to its roots. We hope our community members will take advantage of this opportunity and reinforce the basic premise that we are all connected."
Already several charities have jumped on board including the Big Bam! Foundation, Inc. who's mission is to eradicate breast cancer by providing materials for health education, as well as medical services for women over forty, the underserved, and Latinas who experience age, financial or cultural barriers that inhibit early detection of breast cancer.
"We've worked with the Orange Photography team for several events and have been thrilled with their photography and attitude. With their new Social Photography program, they will be able to help the Big Bam Foundation reach and exceed our goals of raising awareness and funding even more free screening days," said Janice Bonadio, founder of the Big Bam Foundation and breast cancer survivor.
The Academy of Friends also has continued to support Orange Photography and the Social Photography program.
"Academy of Friends is very pleased to be working with the Orange Photography team again this year and with the introduction of the Social Photography program at our 23rd Annual Academy Awards Night Gala. Academy of Friends remains one of the leading contributors to Bay Area organizations serving those affected by HIV/AIDS and to date has donated $4.3 million to support diverse direct care and prevention programs. Last year, the Academy of Friends Gala raised and distributed $375,000 to agencies serving those whose lives are affected by HIV/AIDS," said Stephen Conneely, Executive Director, Academy of Friends.
