AIR
Adobe, Identity ( February 2008)The difficult challenge of branding a new technology platform was brought in-house and landed on my desk. Adobe's AIR (Integrated Runtime) is a platform melding the unique authoring and functional capabilities of Flash, Flex, and web-based technologies for online and offline applications. The mark's form was informed by the melding of the separate technology platforms into one friendly and dynamic whole.
Product mark design: Ryan Hicks.

Overall form makes a nod to its other Adobe platform cousins, PDF (the three lobed trefoil) and Player (the dense-stroked curvy f). Note the little person silhouette formed by the center and the lower curve (shoulders).
Product mark specification in various colors and treatments. Will be iterated on everything from buses and banners on down to teeny "powered-by" pixel-badges.
